Position Overview
Renault South Africa is seeking a passionate and experienced Motor Vehicle Technical
Trainer to deliver world-class technical training to our dealer network. This role requires an
exceptional individual who combines deep automotive technical expertise with outstanding
training delivery skills, capable of engaging and developing technical candidates through
both virtual and face-to-face learning environments.

Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
• Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive technical training programs for the
Renault dealer network technicians across all competency levels.
• Facilitate both virtual and face-to-face training sessions, ensuring high engagement
and knowledge retention.
• Adapt training methodologies and communication styles to suit diverse learning
preferences and technical competencies within the target audience.
• Conduct hands-on practical training sessions on Renault vehicles, systems, and
diagnostic equipment.
• Deliver training on new vehicle technologies, product launches, and technical
updates as they are introduced.

Training Development & Innovation
• Create engaging training materials, presentations, practical exercises, and
assessments that align with adult learning principles.
• Continuously update training content to reflect the latest Renault technologies,
diagnostic procedures, and repair methodologies.
• Develop virtual training solutions that maintain interactivity and practical relevance in
digital environments.
• Integrate multimedia elements, case studies, and real-world scenarios to enhance
learning outcomes.

Assessment & Quality Assurance
• Evaluate trainee competency through practical assessments, written tests, and on the-job observations.
• Provide feedback and coaching to support continuous technician
development.
• Monitor and report on training effectiveness, completion rates, and competency
improvements across the dealer network.
• Identify skills gaps within the network and recommend targeted training interventions.

Essential Requirements
Technical Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience as a qualified Master automotive technician,
preferably within a dealer environment
• In-depth knowledge of modern vehicle systems including engine management,
transmission, electrical/electronic systems, ADAS, and diagnostics
• Experience with Renault products and systems is highly advantageous
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, software, and technical documentation.

Training & Facilitation Skills
• Proven experience in technical training delivery (minimum 2-3 years preferred)
• Formal training qualification (Train the Trainer, ETDP SETA qualification, or
equivalent) is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging virtual training using platforms such as MS
Teams, Zoom, or specialised e-learning systems.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to simplify complex technical
concepts.
• Experience developing training content, learner guides, and assessment materials.

Additional Requirements
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel within Southern Africa and Europe.
• Computer literacy including MS Office Suite and virtual training platforms.
• Fluency in English (additional South African languages are advantageous)
• Flexibility to conduct training outside standard business hours when required.
