Job Description
Job Purpose
To formulate tactical financial strategy and associated delivery plans related to the area of business, ensuring integration and operational implementation through the achievement of financial objectives.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Process
- Analyse, interpret and produce detailed reports that explain trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies.
- Develop tactical strategy and delivery plans to support multi-functional strategic objectives in conjunction with other business units.
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS, South African tax legislation, Companies Act, and Group policies.
- Maintain strong internal financial controls and oversee internal and external audits.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and corporate governance.
- Implement corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics policies in multiple practice areas in order to identify and manage risk liabilities.
- Manage and report on sales and financial performance.
- Manage parts sales channels including: telesales, counter sales, sales representatives and etc.
- Monitor and evaluate financial processes for quality and effectiveness and notify stakeholders accordingly.
Finance
- Compile a budget which aligns to delivery plans, monitor and report on variances.
- Compile timeous and accurate management accounts, including budgets, networking capital, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Monitor performance against budget, analyse variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Minimise expenditure and manage costs and assets effectively.
- Ensure correct billing in respect of accounts and charges and identify opportunities for saving initiatives
- Ensure that net working capital is monitored and optimised.
- Formulate incentive and commission schemes and present to senior line manager.
- Manage the effective timeous provision of financial reporting including profit and loss accounts , budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Ensure robust cash flow management, treasury oversight, and optimisation of net working capital.
- Prepare and sign salary input.
Client

- Develop and manage sustainable relationships with customers that contribute to a culture of customer service excellence.
- Plan and deliver services and/or products that create a culture which aims to exceed customer' expectations in the business.
- Prepare service delivery excellence plans for customers and ensure implementation.
People
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing finance team.
- Develop and implement change management initiatives.
- Develop and implement people strategies in line with service delivery, performance objectives and budgets.
- Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment.
- Own and live up to company values.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualification
- Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification
Minimum Experience
- 5 - 8 years' experience in a similar environment, of which at least 3 - 4 years' managerial experience
Minimum Requirements
- A broad understanding of the motor and/or the logistics and /or transport industry and legislation relating thereto.
