Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for a skilled IT Desktop Support Technician to join our team at the Motus Head Office. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to our staff, ensuring all desktop systems and related hardware and software are running smoothly. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues, install new equipment, and provide guidance to users on best practices.
To be successful in this role, you should have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of desktop hardware and software systems. An outstanding IT Desktop Support Technician will ensure the efficiency and reliability of our IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
• Responding to user requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or electronically.
• Diagnosing and resolving technical hardware and software issues.
• Installing and configuring desktop systems, software, and peripheral devices.
• Performing regular updates, patches, and preventative maintenance on all desktop systems.
• Managing user accounts and permissions.
• Documenting all support requests and solutions.
• Providing guidance and training to users on IT best practices.
• Collaborating with other IT team members to resolve complex issues.
• Maintaining an inventory of hardware and software assets.
• Assisting with IT projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
• Matric
• IT Diploma or relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA A+)
• Minimum 1 years working experience in a desktop support role or service desk role
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac OS environments
• Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software
