Service Costing & Warranty Clerk
Motus Mercedes-Benz Bryanston - currently holds a vacancy for a Service Costing & Warranty Clerk reporting to the Service - Manager.
The Costing & Warranty Clerk is responsible for providing an accurate costing and invoicing administrative service to the Dealership in accordance with Mercedes-Benz standards and procedures. The candidate will be responsible for processing all documentation relating to warranties and maintenance within the Dealership. This will involve checking, allocating, preparing and submitting warranty claims and ESKULABS to Mercedes-Benz according to the required standards and processes. The candidate will provide an accurate, efficient and effective warranty claims service to the dealership by ensuring that profits are maximized, and unnecessary expenditure is minimised.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effective processing of all workshop costing and invoicing documentation:
• Open the job card and allocate a WIP number
• Ensure all customer details are accurately captured on pre-order and master
• booking forms
• Accurately capture a vehicle repair record on the IT system
• Ensure accurate job card costing
• Provide customers with a written quotation
• Obtain the correct parts, labour and sub-contractor prices
• Generate the sub-contractor order from the IT system
• Ensure sub-contractors have the required authority to proceed with vehicle repairs
• Ensure all written quotations are attached to the job card and filed accurately
• When required to book vehicles for repairs, ensure appropriate allocation of work to technicians
Effective financial management of all workshop costing and invoicing:
• Ensure all work carried out is allocated to an active account
• Obtain accounts-based repair order numbers
• Ensure all Kerridge procedures are followed in capturing account details
• When required, obtain written order numbers from finance houses covering workshop costs
• Ascertain whether insurance companies are liable for any workshop costs
• Accurately determine the percentage split for maintenance contracts
• Check customers have active accounts
• Verify customer account details with the debtor’s department
• Check credit limits and obtain correct customer account number
• Check cost splitting with the warranty department before generating invoices
• Locate and apply WIS number
• Forward warranty and maintenance documentation to the warranty clerk
• Ensure all completed job cards are forwarded to the costing and invoicing clerks
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of Grade 12.
• A great team player.
• Mercedes-Benz experience will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Kerridge will be an advantage.
• Service costing skills, knowledge and experience.
• Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Service Costing position would be beneficial.
