Manager - Parts
Mercedes Benz Passenger Cars Westrand (Constantia Kloof)
Mercedes Benz Passenger Cars Westrand (Constantia Kloof) currently has a vacancy of Parts Manager reporting to the Dealer Principal. As Parts Manager, you are responsible for the organization, control and efficiency of the entire Parts and Accessories area. Besides attaining the set procurement, sales and profit targets, in this position you are responsible for the availability of parts, a high level of customer care and active sales of parts and accessories. Moreover, you are responsible for maintaining all logistical structures and processes, considering statutory requirements and specifications and standards of the manufacturer, and for planning, managing and developing all human resources in the Parts department.
KEY OUTPUTS OF THE JOB
- Ability to produce analyses based on dealer and MPC-specific data systems.
- Knowledge of corporate values, guidelines, and strategies
- Analyze purchasing behavior, sales, and potential of serviced customers.
- Monitor the competition and derive your own sales strategy.
- To be able to initiate and close deals independently and with confidence.
- To ensure Creditors outstanding not exceed the agreed targets.
- To ensure details of all vehicle transactions are accurately recorded and registered.
- To ensure all CPA and other control and legal documentation is completed accurately.
- To participate in planning sales campaigns and promotions to maximize sales penetration.
- Innovative thinking to improve customer base.
- To discuss any pricing policy changes affecting vehicle sales with Sales Managers.
- Develop and implement a staff resource plan in response to the needs of the parts department
- Recruit relevant employees according to internal processes and procedures
- Identify training needs for workshop staff and initiate suitable training in conjunction with MPC standards.
- Ensure that relevant EE requirements are met according to the EE plan
- Manage and record staff leave, incentives and overtime payments according to internal procedures
- Ensure that Performance Contracts are in place for all team members
- Complete relevant Performance Management meetings and associated documentation for all team members
- Conduct Performance Management reviews at agreed times.
- Identify, in conjunction with individual team members, individual training and development needs
- Ensure that training and development plans are in place for all team members

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES
- Key figures of the logistics and workshop departments
Basic knowledge of the workshop and logistics processes as well as the processes and interfaces of related departments and contact persons. - Knowledge of the entire service product portfolio and ability to individually apply conditions for fleet owners
- Ability to present the logistics/service network, employee qualification levels at MB dealerships and the advantages of genuine/remanufactured parts and
- accessories as sales arguments
- Ability to work under pressure
Specific Role Responsibilities
- Visit trade shows and exhibitions in order to get in touch with new potential customers. Prospect for Sales
- Generate ideas to promote (corporate) customer loyalty, provide organizational support and participate in these events (e.g. Web Parts training, fleet manager meetings, driver breakfast).
- Participate in workshop/salesperson meetings within the dealership in order to be aware of customer problems and complaints and pending vehicle sales.
- Advise customers in matters concerning the workshop business.
- Manage customer relationship!
- Conduct efficient sales promotion activities.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Matric and/or grade 12
- Relevant post-matric qualification in Management will be an advantage
- Driver’s License
- Fully Computer Literate – Excel & MS Word (Must)
- Knowledge of the latest service/parts IT systems incl. DMS and S&P Cockpit
- Knowledge of Kerridge
- Proven track record in leading and managing people.
- Mercedes-Benz Certified Management Certification will be an added advantage.
- Marketing experience
- +/- 5 years professional experience in parts sales
- Experience in leading employees and teams
